JAY KELLEY IONA, ID -- Milton Jay Kelley, 85, of Iona, passed away March 16, 2008, at Life Care Center of complications of surgery. He was born February 26, 1923, in Shelley, Idaho, to Milton John Kelley and Caroline Jensen Kelley. He grew up and attended schools in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He married Beth McLain June 28, 1946, in Shelley, Idaho and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Richland, Washington, where he worked as an Instrument Tech and Building Manager at the Department of Energy Hanford Site until his retirement. In 1989 they moved to Iona, where they have lived ever since. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed water skiing, camping, and traveling. Survivors include: Wife: Beth Kelley, Iona, ID Son: Preston Jay (Cindy) Kelley, Sunnyside, WA Son: Kevin Dean (Aileen) Kelley, Fair Oaks, CA Son: Forrest Leon (Sue) Kelley, Letha, ID Son: Todd Alan Kelley, Houston, TX Brother: Donald (Nancy) Kelley, Ammon, ID Sister: Donna Williams, Parma, ID Sister: Colleen (Duane) Stoddart, Idaho Falls, ID 10 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Wanda, and a brother, Darwin. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Iona LDS 5th Ward, Ririe Highway and North Iona Road, with Bishop Brad Bailey officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, in the Richland Cemetery in Richland, Washington, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. ------------------------------------ Condolences received online: Kelley kbaird@co.bonneville.id.us Beth, I am so sorry for your lose of a great man - he will truly be missed by all the family and relatives.
