Milo Dean Bahr, 89, of Ammon, Idaho, formerly of Tetonia, Idaho, passed away January 31, 2017. Milo was born September 17, 1927, in Magna, Utah, to Joseph Hyrum Bahr and Mary Fullmer Bahr. At age 5, his family moved to Teton Valley, Idaho, where he grew up working on the family farm. He graduated from Teton High School in 1945. At the age of 18, he met the love of his life, Myrtle Vivian Allen. After a 4-year courtship, they were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 8, 1949. Milo and Myrtle lived in the Tetonia, Boise, and Idaho Falls areas. He worked in farming, drove school bus, the insulation business, and at U&I Sugar. In 1980, they moved back to the family farm in Tetonia where he resumed his favorite occupation of farming and ranching. Milo took pride in the farm’s appearance and it’s productivity. He and his equipment were always available to help a neighbor or on the church farm. Milo and Myrtle retired in 2001 and served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served as missionary chaplains at the Teton Valley Hospital and they served a service mission in the New Mexico, Albuquerque Mission on the Hopi and Navaho Indian reservations. Milo was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many church callings. He was a friend to everyone. He was very thoughtful of widows, youth, and those in need. He was always willing to serve others. In 2012, they moved to Ammon, Idaho, where they made many new friends and became reacquainted with old friends. He loved his family, farming, hunting, water and snow skiing, and horseback riding, especially in the Teton mountain range. He took numerous youth and family groups on hikes and horse rides. Most of all he loved Myrtle. Theirs is a "true love story." Milo is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Myrtle Bahr of Ammon, ID; children, Dean A. (Jane) Bahr of Ammon, ID; Sandra (Jay) Fidel of Pleasant Grove, UT; Pam (Kim) Buck of Ammon, ID; Mary (Dave) Southwick of Idaho Falls, ID; Kay (Gabby) Bahr of Germany; Trina (Bruce) Keck of Menan, ID; Shane (Kristin) Bahr of Spanish Fork, UT; sister, Wyona Hopkins of Meridian, ID; 28 grandchildren and 72 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
