MILDRED MILAM IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mildred Singleton Milam died Sunday, October 24, 2004, after a gallant battle against breast cancer, at age 86. Millie was born in 1917 in Tahoca, Texas, to Sam and Clora Singleton. In September of 1935, she met her future husband, Harold Milam, who was working on an oilrig in the area. The following September, he drove non-stop from Kilgore, Texas, to convince her to marry him. They were married that night and returned immediately to Kilgore. Their marriage journey took them to Arkansas, where they were blessed with three children. Harold's job as a drilling and production manager for a major oil company took them to Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. Harold passed away in 1969. Millie joined her son James and his family in Idaho Falls in 1984. Millie was a life master in duplicate bridge. She was well known for her savvy stock investing. She loved sewing, her garden, and southern cooking. Most of all, she was a wonderful and much loved friend, mother and grandmother.
