MILDRED CARLSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mildred Hendry Wood Carlson, 95, passed away January 6, 2006, at the Silverado Senior Living Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born October 23, 1910, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Henry Hirst Wood and Elizabeth Hendry Wood. She grew up and attended schools in Rexburg.
She married Martin Allen Carlson October 30, 1938, in Blackfoot, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized March 20, 1987, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a homemaker and mother. Following her husband’s retirement, they moved to St. George, Utah. She has lived in Salt Lake City the past six years. Her husband passed away May 24, 1985.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, sewing, reading, and playing games with her family.
Surviving are:
Daughter: Linda Fleischer of Salt Lake City, UT
Son: Allan (Brenda) Carlson of St. George, UT
6 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Henry, Melvin, Walter, Owen, and Glen Wood; and three sisters: Margaret Barber, Mary Wood, and Rachel Wood.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
