MILA I. HARRIS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mila Independence Kruse Harris, 99, of Idaho Falls, died August 31, 2002, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center of natural causes.
She was born July 4, 1903, at Kendell, Montana, to William Charley Kruse and Evalina Hollaway Kruse. She grew up and attended schools in Kendell.
She married Lee Harris July 24, 1924, in Casper, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Montana, where she was a homemaker and mother. Her husband passed away January 6, 1988, and she came to Idaho Falls to live with her daughter, Wanda.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a musician, librarian, Relief Society President, and teacher. She was a member of RN of America and served as a Campfire Girls leader. She enjoyed gardening, travel, knitting, horseback riding, reading, and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are:Daughter: Wanda J. Harris, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Anita M. Neil, Essex, MTDaughter: Alora F. Sheridan, Cut Bank, MTSon: Lee Duane Harris, Centralia, WASon: Alva Alton Harris, Shelley, IDSister: Judith Strayer, Pilot Rock, OR 35 Grandchildren, 52 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Lowell Blaine Harris, a daughter, Milalee Yearsley, and five brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at the Milo LDS 2nd Ward, 12127 North 75 East, with Bishop Kenneth Stucki officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
