Michael Lance Miller, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 21, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Big Mike was born September 10, 1947, in Marietta, Ohio. He was adopted by Sherman Miller and Lola Augustine Campbell Miller. He lived in many states and served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving three years in Germany and one year in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
On April 5, 1969, he married Verdeana Kay Preston in Williamstown, West Virginia. To this union were born three children, Melissa, Michael, and Richard.
Big Mike loved to fish, and enjoyed hunting, shooting skeet, working on cars, cooking barbeque, and visiting with friends and family. He was a friend to all.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Verdeana Miller of Idaho Falls;
daughter, Melissa (Daren Robbins) French of Blackfoot;
son, Michael Miller of Idaho Falls;
son, Richard “Dickie” (Melanie) Miller of Idaho Falls;
and four grandchildren, Selissa Bjork, BreaAnna Miller, Richard “Buzz” Miller Jr., and Nathan Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Please come in casual dress. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
