Michael A. Webster, 65, of Roberts, Idaho, passed away July 1, 2017, at home in Roberts due to a lingering illness.
Mike was born May 16, 1952, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Robert M. Webster and Glenna Jesse Archibald Webster. He grew up on the family dry farm on the Rexburg bench and at Henry’s Lake with his Grandpa Ken. He graduated from Madison High School and attended Ricks College.
He married Gail Tibbitts on August 31, 1968. This summer they will have been married 49 years. They were blessed with five children: Mamie (Jake) Jacobsen, Kallie (Sam) Kelley, Mick (Erin) Webster, Ken (Elisama) Webster, Hadley Webster, and 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Mike farmed to pay the bills and take care of the family, but he always had a love for the cowboy way, and was eventually able to make the cattle business, which was his passion, his career. He had the opportunity to serve as the president of the Idaho Cattleman’s Association, and at the time of his death was employed as Field Representative to Governor Butch Otter. Mike enjoyed golfing and following his grandson, Bruer’s, baseball team.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gail, their five children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his brother, Bob, and his favorite sister, Susan Frost.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jeff.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Terreton LDS Church, (1297 E. 1500 N.) with Bishop Chris Rogers officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
