Michael Schreck

On July 21, 2023, Michael Schreck passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends.

Michael was born in San Francisco to loving parents on April 20, 1969. He resided in California until 1977 when his family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1987. He then went on to study geology at the University of Idaho, class of 1989 and Idaho State University, class of 1992.  Making a career change, he studied at Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon class of 1995. He became an award winning chef, butcher, and sommelier.

He loved the outdoors from fly fishing, cycling, rock climbing, and skiing.

He is survived by his son William Schreck of Reno, NV; parents Carolyn and Doug Schreck of Idaho Falls; sister Christine Simmons (Darryl) of Idaho Falls; nieces Ciara Andreason, Kelsey Simmons, Jessica Pirc and Meghan Simmons; nephews, Parker Simmons, Tyler Simmons and Ray Pirc; and five great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
