Michael Rogers

Michael David Rogers, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 20, 2018, at his home. He was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice. Michael was born August 31, 1950, in Richmond, Missouri, to Elmer O’Dean Rogers and Teressa Phipps Rogers Davenport. He grew up and attended schools in Richmond, graduating from Richmond High School in 1968. He also attended the Career Academy School of Broadcasting. He served in the United States Marine Corps. On July 14, 1994, he married Catherine Rose Hooper in Indiana. Michael was the proud father of three children, Michelle, Michael and Brittany. Michael and Catherine made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Michael worked as a Grain Inspector and Manager for National Quality Inspection. He was a member of CrossPoint Community Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking and working in the yard. He was an Eagle Scout. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Catherine Rogers of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Michelle Dawn (Edward) Wisdom of Bates City, MO; son, Michael David (Toni) Rogers of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Brittany Rose Hooper of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Gary Ray (Suzanne) Rogers of Lexington, MO; sister, Marlene (Andy) Skiles of Richmond, MO; sister, Darlene McMillan (Dean) of Richmond, MO; sister, Terri Lynn (Chris) Keeler of Richmond, MO; 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Crosspoint Community Church, 1900 Grandview Drive, with Pastor Bob Sherwood officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. A second Memorial Service will be held in Richmond, Missouri, at a later date.
