Michael Porter

Michael Wilbur “Mike” Porter, 53, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away November 9, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Mike was born February 28, 1962, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Francis Porter and Alice Anne Miller Porter. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, where he has spent most of his life. On November 8, 1985, he married Teresa Ann McMurtrey in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born three daughters, Jennifer, Crystal and Stephanie. Mike was a long haul truck driver for Doug Andrus Distributing. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, panning for gold, shooting, camping, and coin collecting. Mike loved reading, the outdoors, spending time with his family and his three grandchildren. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Teresa Porter of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) McCormick of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Crystal (Josh) Foster of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Stephanie Kaye Porter of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Alice “Anne” Porter of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, John Francis (Maria) Porter of McMinnville, OR; brother, Carl (Sandra) Porter of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Julie Mendoza of Portland, OR; sister, Lorraine Porter of Butte, MT; a grandson, Korey Michael McCormick of Idaho Falls, ID; and two granddaughters, Kaidence Destiny McCormick of Idaho Falls, ID; and Payton Nicole Foster of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers, a sister, and some close friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home.
