Michael P Pelkey died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 16 at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Michael was born in St. Albans on Jan. 6, 1960, the son of the late Harold L. Pelkey Jr. and Jeanne Marie (Languerand) Pelkey Brady. He grew up and attended schools in St. Albans.
Mike was a very kind hearted person who possessed many talents and an investigative mind. Through the years he had many interests and hobbies and was accomplished in most everything he undertook. Whether it was woodworking, golf, skiing, hunting, or training his dog Chelsea, Mike was a quick study who had the ability to scrutinize and understand the elements necessary to master it.
Most of his working career was spent in the printing industry. He held many positions from pressman to production management. At the time of his passing he was working at Multi Packaging Solutions International in Idaho Falls. He had worked locally at Bertek in Swanton, KoBel in Milton and the Burlington Free Press. He lived and worked in many areas throughout the country including, Oklahoma, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Washington, Idaho and his home state of Vermont. He also traveled internationally to train press operators in Japan and Mexico.
Mike leaves his wife Sandra Wheeler, two sons Brett Pelkey of Austin, Texas and Ian Pelkey of St. Albans; three brothers and their spouses, Brian and Lisa Pelkey, Dean and Mary Pelkey and Bruce and Carolyn Pelkey, all of St. Albans; nieces and nephew Meg, McKenna, Connor, Hannah, Julia, Alyxandra and Taylor Pelkey. He also leaves his step-father, James Brady.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be announced at a later date.
