Michael Miller

Michael Bill Miller, 64, of Irwin, Idaho, passed away January 15, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Mike was born July 13, 1950, in Afton, Wyoming, to Bill Miller Jr. and Yvonne Miller. He grew up and attended schools in Star Valley, Wyoming, and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended East Idaho Vo Tech, and earned his Associate’s Degree in welding and mechanics. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was stationed on the USS Ticonderoga, which performed the recovery of Apollo 11. Michael worked as a welder for Bucyrus Errie, Holders Machine, American Fabrication, and Diversified Metal, where he retired on July 13, 2013. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, snow machining, and he enjoyed building hot rods. Michael is survived by his daughter, Morgan Miller of Idaho Falls; father, Bill Miller of Littlefield, AZ; mother, Yovonne Miller of Swan Valley, ID; brother, Ryan (Stacy) Livingston of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Fred (Kim) Miller of Swan Valley, ID; sister, Mary Houghton of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mindy (Denny) Olson of Rigby, ID; and sister, Linda (Rick) Jackson of Swan Valley, ID. He was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides; and two uncles, Gene and Jessy Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Avenue). The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery where Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
