MICHAEL O. BRODY
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Michael Orel Brody, 59, of Idaho Falls, died of cancer September 17, 2001, at the home of his good friends, Harold and Susan Sermon, near Heise.
Mike was born June 18, 1942, in Afton, Wyoming, the son of Merle (Pat) Brody and Myrle (Peg) Walton Brody. He attended schools at Spencer and Idaho Falls, graduating from high school in 1960.
He served with the National Guard 116th Engineers. He attended Ricks College, supporting himself by working for Snarr Sign Company and Fife's Texaco. In 1963, Mike married Susan Quinn. They moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where he was employed by Slusser Wholesale. In 1970, he returned to Idaho Falls where he has since resided. This marriage was later dissolved. In 1990, Mike married Karen Conlon. They were later divorced.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having served in the Bishopric of the 12th Ward. Mike enjoyed bowling, golfing, and getting together with his friends at the Elks Club of which he was a member for over thirty years.
He is survived by four sons, Patrick & Annabelle Brody of Salt Lake City, Utah; John & Stephanie Brody of Idaho Falls; Matthew & Danielle Brody of Ash Fork, Arizona; Daniel & Bryn Brody of Boston, Massachusetts. Mike has eight grandchildren; Taylor, Bryan, Saige, Jacob, Xane, Skylar, Joshua, and Fiona. He is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Jana Brody and Roxane Barwick.
Mike has seven sisters who also survive him; Geraldine Lake and Evan Weaver of American Fork, Utah; Jean Lake and Al Durkee of Silverdale, Washington; Ruby Lake Weaver of Boise, Idaho; Roxie Lake and Don Bybee of Salem, Oregon; Phyllis Lake Stoddard of Salt Lake City, Utah; Cleone and Pete Wilde of Orem, Utah; and Peggy and Jim Chrisman of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother-in-law, Major David C. Weaver.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Saturday, September 22, 2001, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, with Bishop Art Rammel of the Idaho Falls LDS Boulevard Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
