Merri Lou Peterson

Merri Lou Squires Peterson, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 22, 2015, at Mount Vernon Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice. Merri Lou was born June 27, 1932, in Brigham City, Utah, to Merrill Charles Squires and Louie K. Fox Squires. She grew up and attended schools in Brigham City and graduated from Brigham City High School. On May 19, 1967, she married James Sven Peterson in Tucson, Arizona. Merri Lou and James made their home in Mesa, Arizona for 46 years before moving to Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Ogden, Utah. Merri Lou was a homemaker. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Merri Lou is survived by son, Michael John (Mary Lou) Petersen of Menan, ID; brother, Wray (JoAnn) Squires of Mesa, AZ; brother, Dave (Sherry) Squires of Riverdale, UT; sister, Ann (Leon) Poulsen of Riverdale, UT; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sven Peterson, father, Merrill Charles Squires, mother, Louie K. Squires. Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Mesa City Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona.
