Merlin Boyd Oswald, 75, of Blackfoot, passed away August 31, 2015, at Syringa Chalet Nursing Center in Blackfoot.
Merlin was born September 9, 1939, in Osgood, Idaho, to William Harry Oswald and Mable LaRue Fife Oswald. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.
Merlin loved to read history books, religious books, scouting material, and a little bit of everything else.
Merlin is survived by his sisters, Wilma Neal, of Snowville, Utah, and Alta (Dee) Crane, of Silverdale, Washington;
He was preceded in death by his father, William Harry Oswald; mother, Mable LaRue Oswald; brothers, Howard Oswald, Lowell Oswald, Darwin Oswald, Gordon Oswald, Ronald Oswald; and sisters, Barbara Peterson, Betty Oswald.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Fielding Memorial Park, 4602 South Yellowstone Highway, Idaho Falls, with Loren Peterson officiating.
