MERLE SUCHER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Merle Hill Sucher, 88, of Idaho Falls,
died November 28, 2004, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Center in
Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.
She was born August 4, 1916, in Farnum (near Ashton),
Idaho, to Elmer Lucious Hill and Amplis Maud Kinder Hill. She grew up
in Farnum and attended school in Ashton.
She married Thurman W. Long and lived in Roberts, Idaho,
for 12 years, where she was postmistress. She also worked at Daley's Grocery
Store. They were blessed with two daughters and were later divorced. She
moved to Idaho Falls in 1947.
She married Darwin Albert Sucher October 23, 1948, in
Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS
Temple November 6, 1959. She was a homemaker and mother and worked as
a telephone operator for AT&T for 34 years.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served in various capacities over the years, including visiting
teacher and temple officiator. She served as a full-time missionary to
Kansas and at the Idaho Falls Temple Visitors' Center. She enjoyed round
dancing, square dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family,
especially her grandchildren who lived in the area, Don Dee Sucher, Jami
Lyn Sucher, and Jeremy Lee Wise. The family would like to thank the caring
staff of Turtle & Crane and Aspen Hospice for all the tender, loving
care given to our sweet mother, wife, and grandmother.

Son: Dee Darwin (Kristi) Sucher, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Thelma Pence, Ashton, ID
Brother: Frank Norman Hill, West Jordan, UT
7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Archie Hill and
Fred Hill, four sisters, Elaine French, Lida Stauffer, Vina Parkinson,
Venice Baker, and a granddaughter, Tamara Lee Wise.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December
2, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS 20th Ward, 651 Gladstone, with Bishop
Lance Toone officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday for
one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations
to your favorite charity.
