Melva Rose Hinrichs, daughter of William and Carol Dalton, died peacefully at the age of 83 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on April 2, 2017. Mel Hinrichs, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Forest City, Iowa, on August 10, 1933. She wed Paul Hinrichs on December 27, 1956. Mel and Paul moved to Yuma, Arizona, in 1960, where they lived for the duration of their married life. Mel was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hinrichs, who tragically drowned in a hunting accident on December 3, 1990. Mel was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church. She lovingly raised her family and worked for Mountain Bell and Valley Ditch Lining. She remained in Yuma for an additional 22 years after her husband's death until she moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 2012. While in Idaho, she made many friends at the Lincoln Court Assisted Living Community. Mel is survived by two sons, David Laverne Hinrichs (64), married to Kandy Hinrichs, residing in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Paul Allen Hinrichs (55), married to Kelly Hinrichs, residing in Yuma, Arizona. She is also survived by one daughter, Susan Lynn Pucelik (53), married to Mike Pucelik residing in Gilbert, Arizona. Mel was blessed with five granddaughters, two grandsons, and three great-grandsons. Other survivors include her brother, Clair Dalton of Anchorage, Alaska, and her sister, Fay Ingelin of Duluth, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Dalton of Forest City, Iowa. Services will be held graveside at the Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona (Phoenix Valley), where her ashes will be buried as her final resting place.
