Melissa Ann Marler, went home to her Father in Heaven on November 10, 2019, at her home.
Melissa was born in Rexburg, Idaho, on March 4, 1974. At 7 days old it was discovered that she was going to have an interesting life filled with challenges both physically and mentally. At this point the Primary Children’s Hospital felt that she wouldn’t last more than a few years. Melissa just turned 45 this year and proved them all wrong.
Melissa has been in the system since she was two. She attended the Ogden School for the Blind at age 7, and went to Linden Park Elementary, Bonneville High School, and Skyline High School from which she graduated in 1995.
She loved going to Girls Camp with her friends from her local Ward from The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. Growing up she found a love of horses and was in several Equestrian programs including the Special Olympics. At one event in Rigby she took home the gold. After graduating from school she attended Developmental Disability Services and was at Riverside for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Craig Marler; and her grandparents, Allen & Ruth Marler and Don & Lucille Martin. She leaves behind her mother, LaRene Marler.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the Idaho Falls Taylor View Ward (1291 West 6500 South) with Bishop Scott Cook. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be at Elliot Cemetery, in Wilson, Wyoming.
Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
