Melissa Afton (Knowles) Gable

Melissa Afton Gable, 42, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 1, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Melissa was born June 6, 1982, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Philip Knowles and SanDee Cook Knowles. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.

Melissa made her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she worked as a School Bus Driver for School District 93.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sports, crafting, art, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Melissa is survived by her parents; daughter, KaeLee Nelson of Afton, WY; daughter, Breanna Gable of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Russell Gable of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Megan (Nick) Creech of Cornish, UT; brother, Landon (Emily) Knowles of Carey, ID; 2 grandchildren, Waylen and AinsLee; and significant other, Abel Gonzalez.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
