Melanie Dianne (Russell) Sherry passed away at the age of 40 on Easter morning at 2:45 AM, April 12, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from complications following a heart attack.

Melanie was born August 8, 1979, in San Francisco, California, to Joseph Matthew Hill and Virginia Ann Hill (Battin). Melanie spent her younger years in Port Orchard, Washington, and then the family moved to the Idaho Falls area when she was 16. She attended Bonneville High School and graduated in 1998.

Melanie enjoyed doing crafts, growing plants, and socializing with her friends and family. She was a wonderful mother, a great cook, and was known for decorating for every holiday. She will always be remembered for her kindness, her laugh, encouragement, patience, determination, compassion, understanding and hardworking nature. She was a fun person to be around with a great sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Melanie is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Glade Sherry. They met, married, and resided in the Idaho Falls area. Together they raised 3 children, a son Damian Sherry (age 24), a son Keegan Russell (age 20) and a daughter, Alyssa Sherry (age 13). Additional family members that lovingly remember Melanie include (of Idaho Falls unless stated otherwise): Virginia Russell (mother), Steve Russell (father), Trista Tonnemaker (sister), Monique Vanbuskirk (sister), Matthew Russell (brother), Westley Russell (brother) of Springville, Utah, Lillian Stutchbury (sister) of Ashton, Idaho. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Melanie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Emily Damm, John Battin, Marcia Battin, and Ivol Russell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wood Funeral Home to cover funeral costs.
