Melanie Ann (Haroldsen) Anderson

Melanie Ann Haroldsen Anderson, born June 25, 1976, age 44, passed away in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on June 6, 2021.

Melanie was born in Idaho Falls to Stuart W. and Nina L. Olsen Haroldsen, the first of four children. She attended Fairview and Lincoln Elementary Schools, Rocky Mountain Middle School, and Bonneville High School, was home schooled some, and continued her education at ISU in Pocatello, Idaho. She was an avid reader, a music lover, and a brilliant artist. She served a mission in the San Pablo Philippines Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After her return, she met and didn’t fall in love with her future eternal companion. Her parents called it the "slow burn." But eventually, they came to see that there was a basis for something worth fighting for and later married on August 14, 2000, and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple the same day a year later.

Melanie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She had a magnetic personality and seemed to make friends everywhere she went. Her talents were many and ran deep, but most were unaware of how much Heaven had invested in her. The irony was that events seemed to contrive to keep her out of the spotlight, and she instead, quietly served on the edges of society.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Bryan Wayne Anderson; father, Stuart and Lori (Goff) Haroldsen; her sons, Ethan W., Dallen S., and Jalen L.R. Anderson; stepsister, Patience H Allen; and brother-in-law, Robert Clayton; among many others.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nina L. Olsen Haroldsen; brother, Oliver Wade Haroldsen; sister, Amy Jo Haroldsen; and her sister and last sibling, Heather Ann Haroldsen Clayton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Idaho Falls LDS Church building on 1200 Dunbar Drive in Idaho Falls, with Bishop Kurt Krupp officiating. In order to accommodate a large crowd, the family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery next to her brother, sisters, and mother.
