Melvin “Mel” J. Danielson, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 27, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Mel was born August 26, 1924, in Garfield, ID, to Daniel Enoch Danielson and Emma Elizabeth Jeffs Danielson. He grew up and attended area schools.
On October 22, 1952 he married Maxine B. Radford in Butte, Montana. To this union were born 5 children. Mel and Maxine made their home in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. Mel worked as an electrician even into his retirement.
Mel served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He jokingly stated his military journey began with a 19 day trip provided by the government around the United States. Later Mel referred to his military service as a “government sponsored tour of Europe”.
He was a lifetime member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was with the local 449. Mel enjoyed tinkering and fiddling with anything and everything.

daughter, Connie (Arden) Ricks, of Ririe, ID,
son, Roger (Teresa) Danielson, of Idaho Falls, ID,
daughter, Rita (Jerry) Pierce of Guymon, OK,
brother, Earl Raymond Danielson of Idaho Falls, ID,
sister, Elsie Danielson Locks of Salmon, ID,
brother, Ralph LeRoy Danielson of Idaho Falls, ID,
8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Enoch Danielson, mother, Emma Elizabeth Danielson, son, Gale Lee Danielson, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at Wood East Side, 936 South Ammon Road. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
