Mayda Reeves - 12/04/2002 Mayda Reeves - 12/04/2002 MAYDA REEVES IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mayda Eunice Anderson Reeves, 81, of Idaho Falls, returned to her Heavenly Father December 3, 2002, after a long, lingering illness at Good Samaritan Center. She was born October 16, 1921, at Clark, Idaho, to Lafeyette Anderson and Ellen Elizabeth Taylor Anderson. She grew up in the Clark area and attended Clark Grade School and Rigby High School, where she graduated as Valedictorian. Her mother passed away when she was very young and her teenage years, with the help of her older brother and sisters, were spent taking care of their younger brother and sister and working on the family farm while her father worked. She married LaVier Grant Reeves April 19, 1941, in Clark, Idaho. Their first few years were spent being transferred to various places, Nampa, Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Blackfoot, Laramie, Wyoming and Portland, Oregon. In 1944, they made their home in Idaho Falls, where she worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell. During the later part of World War II, she worked as a sales clerk at J. J. Newberry Company and F. W. Woolworth’s. Following the war she was a full-time homemaker and mother. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed music and dancing all her life and was very proud of receiving the honor as “Gold and Green Ball Queen” of Clark at the Riverside Gardens Ballroom. She also enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, and especially playing with and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. [Georgia] Anderson, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Nora Peterson, Pocatello, IDSister: Edna Harris, Sonoma, CASister: LeeAnn [Aldon] Miller, Ririe, IDSister: Lila [Lisso] Paul, Rigby, ID 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great GrandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Connie DaBell Anderson, her husband, two brothers, Ivan Anderson and Richard DaBell, and a sister, Clara Williams. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Melvin Georgeson of the Idaho Falls 14th LDS Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. The family requests donations be made, in memory of Mayda Reeves, to Good Samaritan Center, 840 East Elva, Idaho Falls, ID 83401 Burial will be in Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
