Maxine June Walton, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 21, 2016, at the Gables of Ammon. She was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice and her loving family.
Maxine was born October 4, 1925, in Milo, Idaho, to Lawrence and Zelma Storer. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On May 4, 1944, she married Forrest L. Walton in Blackfoot, Idaho. They moved to Auburn, Wyoming, where they started their new life together. Their marriage was later solemnized on May 7, 1948, the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born three children, Robert, Vickie and Brenda. Her husband Forrest passed away on December 9, 1999. Maxine worked at Idaho First National Bank and US Bank, until her retirement.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening.
Maxine is survived by her son, Robert L. (Carol) Walton of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Vickie Jewkes of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Brenda Jean Wilson of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Pat Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Ruth Metcalf of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Carol Taylor of Rexburg, ID; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, three sisters, two son in-laws and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 9-9:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Encompass Home Health and Hospice, 3686 Washington Parkway, Idaho Falls, ID 83404.
