Dear Sommers family,
I didn't hear about Maxine's funeral in time to attend. I just wanted you to know my heart is sad for you in so many ways, though Maxine would undoubtedly tell me not to be silly, that she was not sad. I know she was feeling ready to get on with the next phase. She always brought a lift to my day with her encouraging smiles and kind words. I will miss her wonderful being. She falls into the category of "awesome".
