Maxine Smith Feist, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away on December 21, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 17, 1938, in Rigby, Idaho to O. Buck Smith and Mary Mortensen Smith. She attended schools in Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School. Following graduation she moved to Idaho Falls where she has since resided.
In August of 1962, she married George Edward Feist. He preceded her in death in February of 1982. She was a devoted mother, sister, friend, and aunt. She worked in the banking industry for several years. After retiring, she went to work at the INL, retiring from there in 2001. She was a member of Red Hatters, on the Domestic Violence Board, and volunteered at United Way.
Maxine enjoyed golf and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Daughter: Candis (Russell) Bishoff, Idaho Falls, ID
4 Grandchildren: Tara Stevens, Tyler English, Jeramy Bishoff, and Amanda Bishoff
2 Great Grandchildren: Treyvon and Shekinah
Brother: Roy (Myrna) Smith
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, James E. Feist; a brother, Glen; and 2 sisters, Berna and Betty.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls. A luncheon will follow services at 1:00 p.m. at the Idaho Falls LDS South Stake Center (2051 S. Emerson).
The family would like to thank the staff in the Emergency Room and ICU at EIRMC for all of their care and kindness during this stressful time. They would also like to thank the Idaho Falls Fire Department employees who responded to her home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Maxine be sent to the Idaho Falls Fire Department (P.O. Box 50220, Idaho Falls, ID 83405).
