Max Quigley

Max S. Quigley, 78, died October 5, 2012, at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello due to natural causes. 

He was born in Payson, Utah, on May 18, 1934, to Max E. Quigley and Silvana Siegfried. His family moved to Idaho Falls when Max was a young boy. Max graduated from Idaho Falls High School and was a Corporal in the U.S. Army. Max then continued his education at Idaho State University where he received his bachelor's degree. 

Max began his career at the Idaho National Laboratory where he worked until his retirement in 1995. 

Max married Norma Patterson in 1962, and they had 2 daughters, Lauri Quigley and Jill Quigley Swanson. They later divorced. On September 4, 1982, he married Donna Miner Quigley. Max was a father and grandfather to Donna's children and grandchildren who called him Papa Max. After his retirement, Max and his wife, Donna, ran a bed and breakfast in Virginia City, Montana, until a decline in Max's health. 

Max was an accomplished pianist and played whenever possible. Additionally, Max was an artist who enjoyed drawing with ink and painting with oils. He loved to travel to Mexico for the winters, and was also known for his sense of humor and loved telling a good joke. Max leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Donna Miner Quigley of Boise, ID; daughter, Lauri Quigley of Boise, ID; daughter, Jill Swanson of Boise, ID; stepdaughter, Debra (Joe Rittenhouse) Pechanec of McCall, ID; stepdaughter, Suzy (Ralph) Pizer of Pocatello, ID; stepson, Robert (Donna) Scrivner of Boise, ID; stepdaughter, Dawn (Bob) Hedstrom of Pocatello, ID; stepdaughter, Lori (Mike) Fell of Idaho Falls, ID; and 12 grandchildren, Dana Allen Hammond, Bradley Allen, Tyson Pechanec, Jamie Pechanec-Canale, Cassy Scrivner Lagers, Ryan Scrivner Carman, Misty Hedstrom, Travis Fell, Jason Fell, Tyler Fell, Hailee Fell, Courtney Fiedel; and 11 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

In honor of Max, his family will hold a celebration of his life on Friday, October 12, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the home of Mike and Charlie Lovejoy, 1780 S. Bellin Road, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
