MAX HOPSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Glover “Max” Hopson, 71, of Idaho Falls, died January 27, 2003 at the Idaho Falls Good Samaritan Center.
He was born March 12, 1931 in Idaho Falls to Glover William “Bill” Hopson and Breta Blanche Lee Hopson. He attended Milo schools as a young man and graduated from Ucon High School in 1949.
He later served with the 116th Army Engineers from 1949-50. He transferred into the Navy in 1950 during the Korean War. Served on the U.S.S. Curtis as an Aviation Machinist. He was honorably discharged in June 1954.
After his military service, he worked for Douglas Aircraft as an aviation mechanic in Long Beach, California.
He came back to Idaho to work for Safeway as a Meatcutter/Meat Manager for 27 years and retired in 1985. He worked in Twin Falls, Blackfoot, but primarily in Idaho Falls at the Country Club Mall store
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He especially loved being with family and friends and was loved by all.
Survivors include his two sons; Will Hopson of Idaho Falls and Tony Hopson of Idaho City; a sister, Lynda Webster of Idaho Falls; and grandchildren, Sascha and Hannah Hopson.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Milo Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls.
