MAUDE W. BOWEN IDAHO FALLS, ID - Maude Maughan Walters Bowen, 92, died June 8, 2003, at Idaho Falls where she had lived with her daughter, Marla King, for the past 5 ½ years. She was born April 16, 1911, at Wellsville, Utah, to Edmond P. Walters and Leona Maughan Walters. She grew up and attended school in Wellsville, Utah. On December 19, 1928, at the age of 17, she married Joseph H. Bowen at the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away March 1, 1989. She lived in Wellsville, Beaver Dam, Washington, and Ogden, Utah; Grace, Soda Springs, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a great love and a special talent for music and served many years as a chorister in the Relief Society, Singing Mothers, Primary, and in other church organizations. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She and her family spent many memorable times at their cabin which they built themselves at the Blackfoot Reservoir. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, camping, sewing, hunting, boating, swimming, and traveling. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Pat Bowen, Orem , UT; a daughter, Marla (John) King, Idaho Falls, ID; and a son, Joel (Gail) Bowen, Ogden, UT. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Farel; parents; 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 3 grandchildren. She was the last of her generation on both sides of the family. What a grand reunion there must be in Heaven. We wish to thank Hospice of Eastern Idaho, and Turtle and Crane for the wonderful, loving care that was given to her this last month. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003, at the Beaver Ward in Beaver Dam, Utah. The family will visit with friends at the chapel from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
