Matthew Scott Howard, 27, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 24, 2017, at his home. He left us to be with his loving mother who recently passed away and she is surely reading him the riot act, and providing comfort and love.
He was born October 10, 1989, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Terry Ray Howard and Colleen Marie Johnston Howard. He grew up in the area and attended Westside Elementary, Eagle Rock Junior High and Skyline High School. He also attended Eastern Idaho Technical College and he planned to attend Idaho State University in the Fall.
Matthew worked as a Health Care Paraprofessional. His wonderful personality shined as he cared for and interacted with his coworkers and those in need. He will surely be missed by his loved ones and those whose lives he touched in the community.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed reading, gaming, kayaking, hiking, fishing, camping, and loved being with his dog, Seras. Matthew was a solitary and loving individual who enjoyed quiet. He showered his love and time on his nephews, nieces, and children of close friends. He could always make them laugh and smile.
Matthew is survived by father, Terry Howard of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Christina (John) Giannini of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Celeste (Jon) Weber of Lyndon, KS; sister, Andrea (Adam) Grigsby of Meridian, ID; brother, Benjamin Howard of Crosby, ND; grandparents, Ralph and Joy Johnston; grandfather, Allen Howard; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandmother, Helen Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.) with Bishop Fred Cooper, of the Idaho Falls Pioneer Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Friday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
