Mary Tingey

Click here to view funeral service live Mary Bauman Tingey, aged 92, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2018. She was born July 5, 1926 in Driggs, Idaho to Frank Bauman and Mary Elizabeth Ricks. Her husband, Fred H. Tingey, brother, Frank R. Bauman and her sister, Josephine B. Durtschi, preceded her in death. She met Fred H. Tingey while attending Utah State University and they were married April 11, 1947 in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They raised their six children in Idaho Falls. Mary loved to play the piano and was often called to serve as organist and accompanist in her ward. In her youth, she and her sister, Josephine, played duets at many events in the Teton Valley.　 She also liked to write poetry and produced poems, some humorous, for many events. She always loved to dance and even took lessons from her daughter-in-law, Gayle, as an adult. Her true and best loved calling was as a Grandma. She loved all of her grandchildren with a fierce joy and spoiled them accordingly.　 She had a way of making each of them think that they were her favorite. Mary is survived by her daughter, Kristine; sons, Kirk (Gayle), Terry (Paula), Joel (Stacey), Marty (Dana) and Jason (Diane), 24 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Three great grandchildren preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018, at Wood East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
