Mary Lou Foutz Reeder 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 20, 2011, at Mount Vernon Assisted Living Center. Mary Lou was born July 30, 1922, in Ogden, Utah, to Alonzo Joseph Foutz and Tennessee Thompson Smith Foutz. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She continued her education at Weber State and the University of Utah and earned her Associate’s Degree. On July 22, 1946, she married Seth Darrell Reeder in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised five children. Mary Lou was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk and typist at her father’s dental office and part-time for a local dental office. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mary Lou served faithfully in numerous callings, including temple worker. She served as President of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was well known as an excellent canner and baker. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and sewing. Mary Lou was an example of service to everyone and all who knew her loved her. Prior to television, Mary Lou was part of a radio performing group that would do sketches. She was known for changing her voice and story reading. Survivors include: Husband: S. Darrell Reeder, Ph.D. Son: Dan Reeder Son: John (Sherry) Reeder Son: Tom (Kim) Reeder Son: David (Susan) Reeder, and Daughter: Nancy (Douglas) Weber, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho. 19 Grandchildren & 13 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and a sister, Druce Nasfell. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS Westview Ward, 2020 S. Charlotte Drive. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Brigham City, Utah, Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
