MARY POND
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mary C. Gesas Pond died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steven; son, Alex Paterson and his wife, Krista; three sisters, Emmy Jo Sweeney, Oshkosh, WI.; Cathy Rolph, Honolulu, HI; Lani Donohoe, La Jolla, CA; aunts, Catherine G. Nelson and Elizabeth G. Browning, Idaho Falls:; an uncle, Wayne Willis, Grand Island, NE.; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Pond, Lakeside, CA.
Mary was born in Idaho Falls on July 25, 1953, to Barbara Ann Guendel and Norris Garrett Gesas. She lived most of her life in Idaho Falls.
After graduating from Skyline High School, she attended Boise State University, where she received a secretarial degree. While attending college, she met and married Graham Paterson. Following a divorce she moved to the Missoula area, then to Island Park. Here she married Steven Pond, the love of her life. The couple moved to Idaho Falls several years ago.
As a young person she belonged to the Idaho Falls Ski Racing Team. In later years she entered snowmobile races. Her sweet personality won her many friends. She especially loved her two small poodles and her birds. Her class reunions benefitted from her planning and hours of hard work.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the ICU Unit and the doctors at the hospital for their sincere efforts to help her medically.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Thursday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
The family requests no flowers; instead, they suggest that donations be given to the City of Refuge, 840 Park Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. Mary loved to lend a helping hand to the shelter.
May Mary find eternal peace.

We hope and pray that the Lord will bless and comfort you and yours today and always. My sisters, Bonita, Brenda, and I, went to Skyline High School, and we always thought highly of Mary's loving ways, and the kindness she showed towards us and others. We will miss her also. I'm sure she is happy and doing well with those in Heaven above.
Sincerely, Barbara Burtenshaw
