She was born June 18, 1929, in Conway, South Carolina to Dwight and Emaline Martin. She had two brothers and two sisters. Mary lost her mother at a young age but her father lived into his sixties. She remained in South Carolina until she married Dolphie McCoy Moore and they had six children. The family moved to Jacksonville, Florida where their union ended after 11 years. Mary and her children moved to Idaho Falls in 1964 to start a new life. It was here where she met the love of her life, Kay R. Nelson. They were married August 6, 1971 in Elko, Nevada. Mary worked at the R.T. French Company in Shelley for over 10 years. They moved to Boise where she worked at Hewlett Packard for over 13 years. Kay and Mary built a beautiful cabin in Donnelly, Idaho where they lived on the lake and she especially enjoyed fishing on the Cascade Lake . Mary remained Kay’s “Little Sweetheart” and always will. When the time came that Mary needed help in her everyday living, Kay was always there for her. Her daughter, Cheryl started to help Kay out with Mary’s care a couple of years ago and was a great help to Mary, Kay and all of the family. Mary loved to fish, quilt, garden and spend time with family and friends.
