FLORENCE MOSS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mary Florence Hunter Moss, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 31, 2005, at Turtle & Crane. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. She was born July 26, 1910, in Devers Cove, Alabama, to James Laurie Hunter and Delilah Jane Dolberry Hunter. She grew up in Alabama and Texas and attended schools there. She married John Elmer Moss February 28, 1928, in Fort Worth, Texas, and their marriage was solemnized April 5, 1928, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Ririe until 1968, when they moved to Idaho Falls. She was a homemaker and mother and worked with her husband on their farm. She had also worked at a grocery store, nursing home, and motel. Elmer passed away March 19, 1997. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various callings over the years, including three full-time missions she served with her husband. She also served as an officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing and was a good cook. Surviving are: Daughter: Jean (Homer) Longhurst of Spokane, WA Daughter: Golda (Bud, deceased) Janes of Iona, ID Son: Larry (Elaine) Moss, currently serving an LDS Mission in Singapore Son: Thomas (Bonnie) Moss of Blackfoot, ID Son: Patrick Moss of Eugene, OR Son: Darrell Moss of Idaho Falls, ID 32 Grandchildren, 115 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, three brothers, Earl Hunter, Roy Hunter, and James Albert Hunter, four sisters, Eliza Jane Wheeler, Edith Summers, Marie Moss, and Blanche Fitzpatrick, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, with Bishop David Holland of the Idaho Falls LDS 7th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
