HELEN S. MOORE
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mary Helen Simons Moore, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 19, 2007, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Helen was born April 22, 1916, in Mammoth, Utah, to Grant Blaine Simons and Margaret Louisa Rolfe Simons. She grew up in Mammoth, Eureka, and Provo, Utah, where she spent many happy hours playing with her sisters and friends. She graduated from Provo High School, earning honors in her business classes, and later attended Glen E. Clark Business College in Idaho Falls.
Helen married Emil George Moore August 20, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1941 they moved to Idaho Falls, where Emil worked for the Salt Lake Tribune, the Elks Lodge, and First Security Bank. Emil passed away April 14, 1993. In the early years of their marriage, Helen was a stay-at-home mom. When her girls grew older, she went to work as the administrative assistant to the personnel manager of Phillips Petroleum Company in Idaho Falls.
Over the following 25 years, she worked as the assistant to the resident director for the University of Idaho Education Program and later served as the registrar. She retired in July of 1983 and was presented certificates by the university president and regents designating her as an “honored retiree”. In 2005 she received a “Special Service Award” from the University of Idaho.
Helen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. Each family member holds special memories of shared experiences, holidays, trips and family dinners. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening among her roses and helping her daughter Mary Lee train and show their dogs. Mary Lee was her care-giver during the last years of her life.

Granddaughter, Mitzi Gaye (Kim) Stosich of Idaho Falls, her children, Melinda Lee, (great great grandchildren, Kaleb Emil, Carston Edward, Brookelyn Lee), Michael Todd (great great grandson, Tayson Gy), Timothy James “TJ”, and Jordan Andrew;
Granddaughter, Laura Lee (Rick Alan) Bowser of Centerville, UT, and her children, Nicholas Alan, Elder Tyson Lee Bowser (serving in the Alabama Birmingham Mission), Derrick Scott, and Chad Gy; and a
Grandson, Todd Carlton (Marci) Hansen of Idaho Falls, and his children, Grace Marie, Jane Elise, Jaidyn Rachel Oldroyd, and Brock Carlton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Marvin Simons, three sisters, Erma Leone Ward, Margaret Fern Loveless, and Louise Elaine Farnworth, and her son-in-law, Gy Carlton Hansen.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Saturday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

Mary Lee,
I was so sad to hear about your mom. Sweet Dennis Love made sure I knew. Some of my fondest memories are of stopping by your desk to get candy and touching base. Often you would tell me how your mom was doing.
I've always admired your love and dedication to your mother. She was lucky to have a daughter such as you.
I miss you tons and my thoughts are with you and your family.
