Mary "Mikki" Waight

Mary Catherine “Mikki” Waight, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 22, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC). She was under the care of her loving family, friends, and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Mikki was born December 19, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to John F. and Edith A. Kuhar. She graduated high school from the Andrew School for Girls in Willoughby, Ohio, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Mount Sinai School of Nursing, and later became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist after attending Anesthesia school in California in 1979.

Her medical career spanned more than 30 years and three continents working as a nurse in Beirut, Lebanon, Bangkok, Thailand, and later as nurse anesthetist in Idaho Falls, Idaho, her home for 45 years. She joined EIRMC in the early 1980’s and was a founding member of Intermountain Anesthesia, a novel anesthesia practice and business model owned by both anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists.

Mikki loved Idaho, its mountains, golden fields, and big skies. She was fun, free-spirited, and curious, passionate about astrology, adventure, and horseback riding. Mikki loved spending time with her horses and her best friends, “the Diva’s,” horseback riding in the Idaho back country and traveling.

She was a member of Watersprings Church and made regular contributions to Harmony Outreach to support their missionary and philanthropic work around the world.

On March 13, 2002, she married, now deceased, John Neal Leverette, in Maui, Hawaii.

Mikki is survived by her step-daughter, Allison Kackman of Spokane, WA; brother, Robert (Rosemarie) Kuhar of Augusta, GA; nephew, Ryan (Jamie) Kuhar; Emily (Howie) Nelson grandniece Hazel of Apex, NC and grandnephews, Jude and Alister of Seattle, WA; and nephew, Morgan Kuhar of Hoboken, New Jersey.

Please join the family of the late Mary Waight to celebrate a life well lived and to share cherished memories Monday, January 26, 2026, at 4 p.m. at the Sandpiper Restaurant, 750 Lindsey Boulevard. We look forward to sharing stories, laughter, and love in honor of Mary’s legacy.
