MILLIE McGOWAN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mary Mildred “Millie”
McGowan, 90, of Idaho Falls, died May 23, 2004, at her home.
She was born October 2, 1913, at Fordyce, Arkansas, to
Frank Jones and Eddie Ophelia Bryant Jones. She grew up and attended schools
in the area.
On June 12, 1934, she married Alfred Woodie Mitchell in Rosboro, Arkansas.
They moved to Boise, Idaho, where she lived for 35 years. She worked in
factories and was in charge of housekeeping crews at the Capitol Building
in Boise for many years. Thirty-five years ago, she moved to Idaho Falls,
where she has since resided.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, writing letters, doing things with her hands and loved
to collect things.

Daughter-In-Law: JoAnn Mitchell, Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: William Frank Jones, Little Rock, AK
Sister: Marjorie Fournier, Little Rock, AK
9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Dennis Lee “Bud”
Mitchell and Ralph Dean Mitchell; and six sisters, Ruth Jones, Bessie
Hancock, Robbie Oakley, Louise Duncan, Helen Bernice Traylor, and Marie
Hunter.
Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 28,
2004, at the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery with President Joseph Bell officiating.
The family will visit with friends at Wood Funeral Home
(273 N. Ridge) on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the services.
Burial will be in Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
