Mary Larue “Mary Lou” Johnson, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at her home of natural causes. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.
Mary Lou was born October 11, 1933, in Shelton, ID, to Arthur Vernon Jenkins and Clara Ada Ferguson Jenkins. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On September 28, 1951, she married Tebbin Gilbert Johnson in Lincoln, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Mary Lou lived her whole life in Idaho Falls, with the exception of the first three years of their marriage, when they lived in Rexburg. Mary Lou worked in the lunch program in School District #93.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings through the years in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls. She enjoyed sewing, and loved spending time with her family, grandkids and great grandkids.

son, Bryan Tebbin (Denece) Johnson of Clearfield, UT;
son, Craig Charles (Rebecca) Johnson of Cedar Hills, UT;
son, Val Douglas (Karen) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Kyle Gilbert Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Mary Sherisse (Bradley) Pettingill of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Julia Marie (Robert) Workman of Tigard, OR;
brother, Duane (Pauline) Jenkins of Boise, ID;
brother, Morris (Erma) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID;
brother, David (Jackie) Jenkins of South Jordan, UT;
sister, Verlene (Jerry) Schmier of West Yellowstone, MT;
sister, Luana (Jay) Rampton of South Jordan, UT .
28 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Steven Paul Johnson and Stuart Johnson.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Lincoln 1st Ward Building, 3700 East Lincoln Road, with Bryan Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Monday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
