Mary Knight

Mary Christine Rhodehouse Knight, 56, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Pocatello, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, in Colorado Springs. She was born April 21, 1955, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Clarence Ray Rhodehouse and Selma Loraine Vest Rhodehouse. She grew up in the area and attended Parker Elementary and Stella Bell School in Rexburg. She moved to Idaho Falls with her parents, then to Shelley. She worked at the Development Workshop. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Relief Society chorister in her Colorado Springs ward. In April of 1980, Mary moved to Twin Falls and lived at the Purple Sage Manor, where she met Dono Vaughn Knight. They were married in Pocatello, Idaho, on August 22, 1987. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in August of 1995. In 1994, Mary and Dono moved back to Pocatello and bought a sweet, little two-bedroom home, where they lived happily until health problems required Mary to move to Colorado Springs to be with her sister, Carmen. She lived with Carmen until her passing. Mary liked to read, go bowling, play cards, and watch movies. She participated in Special Olympics and was featured in a Goodwill Industries television commercial in Colorado. Mary especially loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: Husband: Dono Knight of Pocatello, ID; Sisters: Ole Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; Ethel Breeton of Blackfoot, ID; Ella Dawn McMinn (Larry) Hoopes of Idaho Falls, ID; LaVee (David)Williams of Orem, UT; and Carmen (Michael) Kerr of Colorado Springs, CO; Brothers: Arvin (Gay) Stott of Goshen, ID; and Robert Rhodehouse of Idaho Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Rhodehouse, and a sister, LaGene Schwartz. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Dale Diller officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
