EILEEN JENSEN
UCON, ID -- Mary Eileen Jensen, 79, of Ucon, died February
27, 2004, at her home from complications of a long term illness. She was
under the care of The Aspen Foundation for Hospice Care.
She was born June 5, 1924, in Malad City, Idaho, to James
Peter Jensen and Mary Ann Dudley Jensen. She grew up in Malad and attended
schools there, graduating from Malad High School. She then served a full-time
mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints in Southern
California. After her mission she moved to Aberdeen to work for the Soil
Conservation District.
She married Roy Alvin Jensen October 13, 1947, in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived briefly in Aberdeen, then moved to the
Jensen family farm in Ucon in 1950, where they have resided ever since.
She was a homemaker and mother and worked as a secretary for School District
93 at Ucon Elementary School, Ammon Junior High School, and Hillview Elementary
School. She retired in 1972.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served in various callings over the years, including organist,
Relief Society Counselor, Stake Young Women Presidency, and as a teacher
in Primary and Sunday School. She was active in the Cancer Society’s
“Reach to Recovery” program. She enjoyed music, reading, canning,
learning computer skills, and especially her family and friends.

Sister-In-Law: Maude Jensen, Malad, ID
16 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Ralph, Royal,
Rex, and Raymond, and three sisters, Edna, LaRue, and Mabel.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March
4, 2004, at the Ucon LDS 1st Ward, 10854 North 41 East, Ucon, with Bishop
Kenneth Stucki of the Milo LDS 2nd Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from
7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Thursday from 11:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
