Click Here To View Memorial Video Mary Afton Grasmick, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 8, 2016, at her home. She was under the care of her children and Solace Hospice. Mary was born June 7, 1929, in American Falls, Idaho, to Edward Marion Stanger and Mary Ethel Adkins Stanger. She grew up and attended schools in American Falls and graduated from American Falls High School. On May 18, 1972, she married Jacob N. Grasmick in the Ogden Utah LDS Temple. She was blessed with nine children; Mary Anne, Kathy, Stephanie, Jackie, Lisa, Barbara, Linda, Valerie, and Jake Alan. Mary and Jake made their home in Idaho Falls, where Mary worked as a bookkeeper and did clerical work. Mary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She sang in the choir and taught Primary, and served as church librarian and Sunday School secretary. Mary also sang with the LaDonna and Ambassadors choral group in Pocatello. Mary enjoyed dancing, bowling, quilting, sewing, & embroidery, but especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Tom) Burton of Boise, ID; daughter, Stephanie Mitchell of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jackie (Joe) Farley of Smithfield, UT; daughter, Lisa (Harry) Power of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Barbara Walker of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Linda (Robert) Farmer of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Valerie (Ben) Cowan of Rigby, ID; son, Jake Alan (Amber) Grasmick of Katy, TX; brothers, Merrill (Victoria) Stanger and Lionel (Nancy) Stanger; sisters, Elsie (Merlin) Kelly, Iola (Gary) Kelly, Ruth (Lloyd) Bitton, Ann (Evan) Jenkins and Ethel (Glenn) Ellsworth; 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Anne West; husband, Jacob N. Grasmick; her parents, Marion and Ethel Stanger; brothers, Richard, Gordon, Kay, and Davis Stanger; sisters, Gail Stanger, Winnie Bower, and Vivian Manning; grandson, Troy Larimer; and two great grandchildren, McKinna Franck and Kurtis Franck. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward, 2040 Brentwood, with Bishop Matthew Gardels officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.

Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
