Mary Viele Grant

MARY ANN GRANT Mary Ann Grant, 79, of Idaho Falls, died December 30, 2004, at her home. She was born March 9, 1925, in Wallace, Idaho, to J. B. Hoopengardner and Mable V. Viele. She grew up and attended schools in Wallace, where she graduated in 1943 as Valedictorian of Wallace High School. She married Walter L. Grant September 23, 1949, in Erie, Pennsylvania. They made their home in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, for four years, then moved to Overland Park, Kansas and Lima, Ohio, before coming to Idaho Falls in 1969. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a Department Store buyer. Walter passed away in February, 1987. She served as a Girl Scout Brownie Leader for 13 years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, puzzles, reading, and watching old television shows. Surviving are: Daughter: Rebecca Pratt, Lima, OH Daughter: Geri Scrogham, Boise, ID Son: Lewis Grant, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Andrea “Andi” Anderson, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Heather Richardson, Tooele, UT 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a son, Bruce Alex Grant. Memorial Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2005, at the Lincoln Court Retirement Community, 850 Lincoln Drive, Idaho Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
