Mary Edonilia Chavez, 76, of Ucon, passed away March 29, 2019, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born October 1, 1942, in Cerro, New Mexico, to Pablo Herminio Segura and Erminda Jaramillo Segura. She grew up and attended schools in Payson, Utah. She married James Sanchez in Idaho Falls. In 1973, they moved to Menan, Idaho. They later moved to Tooele, Utah, and then moved back to Idaho. Mary and James were later divorced. On February 14, 1997, she married Abundio Franco Chavez in Idaho Falls. They made their home in Ucon, Idaho. She was a member of the New Hope (Nueva Esperanza). She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, crocheting, painting, stenciling, hunting, and hiking. Mary is survived by her husband, Abundio Chavez of Ucon, ID; daughter, Lori A. (Manuel) Jaramillo of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Angela (Rico) Llamas of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Amy (Scott) Murphy of Ammon, ID; son, Alfredo Chavez of Ucon, ID; son, Abundio (Teresa) of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dennis Segura of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Geneva (Herminio) Cruz of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mary Ann Gray of Butte City, ID; sister, Nancy (Stephen) Mori of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Bobby Segura of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Sanchez Jr. and Joseph Sanchez; a daughter, Joanna Sanchez; a brother, Pablito Segura; and a sister, Cora Mascarenas. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 South Ammon Road). The family will visit with friends from 9-9:50 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery.
