Mary Againeses

Mary returned to the arms of our welcoming Heavenly Father on May 20, 2017. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Mary was born December 9, 1929, in Plainwell, Michigan, to Harry Thomas Wine and Gladys Ellen Standish Wine. On July 4, 1948, she married Norberto Walthado Againeses II in South Bend, Indiana. To this union were born seven children, Sherry, Ric, Ramon, Norberto, Maria, Ramona, and Dolores. Mary and Norberto made their home in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where Mary worked as a bookkeeper after the death of her husband. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a great love for her church and doing family history. She was able to make and keep those records as something that her family will treasure. She loved to read and was always on the look out for good nonfiction novels, those of Laura Ingalls Wilder being among her favorite. She loved to watch sports and go to BYU football games. An avid puzzler, she would complete puzzles in no time. One of the things that she will be remembered for the most, and most treasured, are the blankets that she would crochet or knit, whichever suited her mood. They showed a great love for those she bestowed them upon. Mary is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Tom) Ray of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Ric (Shirley) Againeses of Phoenix, AZ, son, Ramon Againeses of AR; son, Norberto (LaVon) Againeses of Comstock, MI, daughter, Maria Eickmeier of Comstock, MI, daughter, Ramona Againeses of Comstock, MI, brother, Ralph (Marian) Wine of Plainwell, MI, 34 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gladys Wine; husband, Norberto Walthado Againeses II; sisters, Joyce Ellen and Wanda Wine; brothers, Harry, Harold, Elbert, and Jack Wine; daughter, Dolores Dayton; granddaughter, Sherry Hodges; and great granddaughter, Arrianna Hodges. No services will be held.
