MARX E. WEECH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Marx Elson Weech, 83, of Idaho Falls,
died September 30, 2003, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of
Eastern Idaho.
He was born August 2, 1920, at Moab, Utah, to John Weech
and Maryette Somerville Weech. He grew up and attended schools in Moab,
then graduated from Grand County High School. He graduated from the University
of Utah and obtained his masters' degree in Chemical Engineering from the
University of Washington.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a Staff
Sergeant in the European Theatre.
He married Leda Seamons in May, 1964, in Idaho Falls. His
work had them move several times from Idaho Falls to Downey, California,
to Springfield, New York, and finally to San
Jose, California. He worked as a Chemical Engineer for Phillips Petroleum
and the ichigan Research Institute, then for General Electric, from which
he retired after 31 years service. Marx and Leda retired back to Idaho Falls
17 years ago so he could pursue his love of fishing and hunting.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, he served as a home teacher, Elders Quorum Secretary, in the Stake
Sunday School Stake Presidency, and as High Priest Secretary. He loved the
outdoors, especially hunting, and fishing. When not busy with fishing, he
was busy with various technical inventions. Marx held several patents and
had written numerous technical articles.

Stepson: Robert Dean “Bob” Tucker
Sister: Corinne Starbuck, Yuma, AZ
15 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October
6, 2003, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop
O’Dell Young of the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 2nd Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends Monday for one hour
prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Groveland Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bingham County
Veterans Team.
