Marvin Merlin Sheetz, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 17, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 21, 1950, in Great Falls, Montana, to Donald M. Sheetz and Thelma Louise Bickle Sheetz. The family settled in Idaho Falls where Marvin attended schools and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969.
Later he met and married Deana Lynne Cave and in 1982 was blessed with his only biological daughter, Amy. They were later divorced and in 1987 another girl, Shyla, was born to his ex-wife who Marvin loved from day one. Marvin worked as an automobile mechanic from his early 20's until his passing.
He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer football fan. He loved hunting with his friends and family, enjoyed Nascar, and attending his AA meetings twice a week. He loved helping anyone and everyone. He did everything he could for his brothers, sisters, parents, daughters, granddaughters, and the rest of his family.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Amy (Mike) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; granddaughters, Emily Lundquist of Montana and Kaydee Messinger of Idaho Falls; sisters, Donna Franklin of Pennsylvania, Kim (Don) Perry of Firth, and Jamie (Tom) Jones of Idaho Falls; brothers, Philip (Deborah) Sheetz of Illinois, George Sheetz of Pocatello, Dale (Christine) Sheetz of Idaho Falls, and Todd Sheetz of Idaho Falls; plus many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an older brother, Donald Sheetz; a sister, Judith Strand; and a stepdaughter, Shyla Cayton.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
