Marvin Hayes

Marvin R. Hayes, 73, of Lewisville, Idaho, passed away August 5, 2017, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Encompass Home Health & Hospice. Marvin was born August 21, 1943, in Washington Terrace, Utah, to Francis Elmer Hayes and Alice Lucy Collier Hayes. He grew up and attended schools in Vail, Oregon, and joined the United States Army. On December 5, 1966, he married Rosetta Walters in Ogden, Utah. They had four children, Doug, Kevin, Billy and Tina. Marvin and Rosetta made their home in Lewisville, where Marvin worked as a contractor. Rosetta passed away August 15, 2014. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his son, Doug Hayes of Clearfield, UT; son, Kevin Hayes of Lewisville, ID; son, Billy (Melissa) Hayes of Rigby, ID; daughter, Tina (Kenny) Garner of Terreton, ID; sister, Carolea Cussins of Melba, ID; sister, Nila Child of Darby, MT; brother, Joe (Thelma) Hayes of Nampa, ID; sister, Sue (Mike Bass) Hayes of Spokane, WA; brother, Danny Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dennis Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; sister-in-law, Mary Hayes of Nampa, ID; sister-in-law, Shelley Hayes of Basin, WY; sister-in-law, Sheryl Hayes of Menan, ID; grandchildren, Shane, Brittany, Ryan, Rhett, Robby, Jonathan, and Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren, Sofia and Royal. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosetta; brothers, Dee, Kerry, Beldon, Neil, Burdette, and Monte Hayes; and sister, Darlene Adams. The family invites friends and family to join them for a luncheon from 1-3 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Lewisville Community Center, 3451 East 480 North, Lewisville, ID 83431. A viewing will follow from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Lewisville Cemetery where Marvin’s and Rosetta’s urns will be buried side by side. Military Rites will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
