CARLSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Marvin Vernal Carlson, 82, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died June 12, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1920 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ernest Malcom Carlson and Augusta Marie Nelson Carlson. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1939 and has lived in New Sweden all his life. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. He married Connie W. Wright November 10, 1949 in Elko, Nevada. They operated a farm until retirement and from 1968 until 1974 he was co-owner of a Potato Warehouse in Shelley. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing baseball, flowers and gardening, but the love of his life were his grandchildren.. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, with Dennis Carlson officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team at the cemetery. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
