Marty Johnson

Martin "Marty" David Johnson, passed away on October 15, 2023, after a brief illness.

Marty was born on May 1, 1970 in Euclid, Ohio, to Robert and Valerie Johnson. Marty spent his most formative years in Morenci, AZ, before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Denver, Colorado.

He worked to overcome obstacles in order to get a Computer Science degree from BYU and a Masters in Computer Science from The University of Phoenix. It was at this point in his life that he met and married America, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. After spending over a decade in Tucson, AZ, the family relocated to Utah, where Marty resided until his death.

Marty was a gentle giant with a soft spot for those he loved most. He will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, America, and their three children Alice, Woody and Elias; his mother, Valerie Johnson; siblings, Jenny, Todd, and Julie; he was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Marty was preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson; and brother, Bradley Johnson.

Services will be Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Wood Funeral Home(273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery following services.
